The most popular car in the Fast & Furious™ movie series is Dominic Toretto’s jet black Dodge Charger. In the very first movie, Dominic showed that hot import cars are no match for cubic inches. The Fast & Furious series now includes seven films, and is the most successful franchise in Universal Studios history. Dominic’s 1970 Dodge Charger has appeared in most of the films. The Dodge Charger nameplate has been used on three different platforms. The most famous Chargers were the classic ‘68 through ‘70 versions. Based on the Chrysler B-body, these cars sell for thousands of dollars today. Dominic’s ‘70 Charger has the powerful HEMI engine, which is a classic on its own. It was a special engine option in 1970, and is very rare today. It helped Dodge win many stock car races and championships.

In 1961/62 Chevy made a drastic styling change to their full-size Impala car line. It marked the end of the wild fins era. The ’62 Hardtop featured the new “convertible roof” design. In addition, while racing by the factories was politically incorrect, the ’62 Impala offered the powerful 409 cubic inch V-8 engine and used by drag racers. Starting in 1958, this full-size Impala continues to be one of Chevy’s top selling line of cars. The ’62 model was part of the third generation of the Impalas. It featured more conservative styling than previous Impalas. There were 5 different engines to choose from starting with the 230 c.i. 6 cylinder up to the powerful 409 c.i. V-8.

• Tree sets of wheels and tires

In 1969 the Mustang received its first major restyling to keep pace as the leader in the popular “Pony Car” class. An important part of this was winning on the race track. Since the rules required customer versions be offered, the Boss 302 contained all the parts the race teams needed to win.
The styling of the 69 Boss 302 was designed by Larry Shinoda who gave it a distinctive appearance. Under the hood was a very special version of Ford thin-wall small block V-8. Then spoilers were added in the front and the rear. Today the 69 Boss 302 is the most popular vintage Mustang on the collectors market.
