The P-47 was the first single-seated fighter to be equipped with a supercharger paired with a 2000hp engine, allowing it to fly at the same very high altitude as bombers. The P-47 was armed with eight 12.7mm machineguns. With the P-51 Mustang, the Thunderbolt constituted the main fighters of the US Army Air Force. This is the representation of P-47D early production that was nicknamed "razorback" because of the shape of its upper fuselage behind the cockpit. The P-47D was a high-speed, high-altitude capable fighter and escorted the allied bombers that were conducting raids over Germany. Its 1ton payload and its robustness made the Thunderbolt the perfect aircraft for ground attacking missions
The US Army Air Force excellent P-47D fighter/bomber assembly kit. 1/48 scale, Overall Length: 230mm, Overall Width: 259mm. This is the representation of P-47D early production that was nicknamed "razorback". The massive form of the plane, especially its belly and its cowling, has been accurately reproduced. Flaps come as separate parts and can be attached in the up or down position. 3 types of mirrors, gun sights and propellers are provided. Engine cowling flaps and the intercooler air outlets on each side of the fuselage can be represented in the opened or closed position. 500 pounds bombs, rocket launchers and 2 types of drop tanks are part of the kit. A pilot figure and decals for two different markings are included.
This scale plastic model kit accurately depicts the Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien. The Hien was officially adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1943, and stood out among its Japanese aircraft contemporaries in the Pacific War on account of its liquid-cooled Ha-40 engine, slimline fuselage and long, elegant wing. A number of different variants were produced, among them the Ki-61-Id which featured a 20cm-elongated nose to house 20mm cannons, plus 12.7mm machine guns in the wing. In fact, with 1,360 units it was the most prolifically produced Hien variant; its superior performance at higher altitudes meant that it was often given the brief of taking on incoming U.S. B29 bombers in the skies around the home islands of Japan.
• 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit. Approx. length: 125mm, approx. wingspan: 167mm.
• The model accurately depicts the Ki-61-Id Hien with elongated nose and slimline fuselage.
• The cockpit parts breakdown is changed from its 1/48 scale counterpart, and can be pre-assembled then slotted into the already-built fuselage sides.
• The fuselage underside radiator/oil cooler is artfully recreated with a single piece.
• One-piece canopy offers excellent fit with fuselage.
• Clear parts are included to recreate light and gun sight components.
• Optional Venturi tube and fuel cooler parts are included.
• Comes with 3 marking options, including the colorful tones of the 244th Air Group.
TAMIYA - 1/48 Heinkel He219 Uhu Plastic Model Plane Kit (61057) Powered by two Daimler-Benz DB603 engines, this aircraft with a long and slender fuselage displayed its combat-worthiness against allied bombers in nocturnal operations during the final period of the conflict. Several versions were produced starting with the He219A-0 in 1942, and among them, the He219A-7 was the final and the most sophisticated version.

With a nickname like 'Warthog', it's quite clear the A-10 is not a pretty aircraft. Mounted on its nose is one of the deadliest weapons ever to cruise the skies. Called the GAU-8/A Avenger, it is a 30mm cannon capable of firing up to 70 rounds of heavy ammunition per second. With a muzzle velocity of mile in one second, the shell is intended to penetrate even the strongest tank hull. The A-10, officially called the Thunderbolt II, was actually designed around the big cannon. The strange looking shape of the A-10 was a result of trying to provide as much protection for the pilot as possible. Another means of survivability is the great maneuverability. It can turn quickly and sharply, even evading radar-directed guns. The A-10 can carry up to eight tons of weapons on eight wing and three fuselage pylons.
This decal variation of the A-10A kit from Academy is an accurate replica of birds flown in the latest Iraqi conflict. The masterfully detailed cockpit interior and landing gear compartment are of a precision you have come to expect from Academy. Air intakes fit just right. Fully engraved panel lines and rivet details cover the entire bird. The centerpiece, the GAU-8/A Avenger would intimidate even a 1/32 scale enemy aircraft! It's also loaded with an impressive arsenal of twelve Mk. 82 Dumb Bombs, two Paveway I, two Mk. 83 Dumb Bombs, and six AGM-65 Maverick Missile. Comes with vibrant 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' decals.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is a very different aircraft with disparate capabilities compared to the original F-15 Eagle. The classic F-15A and F-15C models were air superiority fighters, but thanks to extensive modifications the F-15E proved effective in air-to-ground attack operations. First tested in 1985, the Strike Eagle is easily recognized by its two-seat cockpit and the pair of range-extending conformal side tanks mounted on the fuselage sides.
Using its LANTIRN (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting pods) and other sophisticated avionics systems, Strike Eagles can deliver traditional heat-seeking weapons as well as advanced laser-guided "smart" bombs. In its role as a fighter-bomber, the F-15E also utilizes a six-barrel Vulcan cannon which makes the plane capable of defending itself against enemy aircraft while eliminating the need for escort fighters.
The Strike Eagle first saw combat as part of Operation Desert Storm in 1991. By the end of hostilities, about four dozen F-15E aircraft had flown a total of 2,200 missions and only two of these planes were lost to enemy fire. In the years since, the Strike Eagles have benefitted from the latest advances in electronic warfare equipment as part of the F-15E Modernization Program. At the time this was written, the F-15E was scheduled to remain in service beyond 2025.

Tank cracker
Thick, well-sloped armor made the T-34 incredibly resilient to horizontal attacks, but the Ju 87 G-1 was designed to blast the Soviet tanks from above. With a pair of 37mm guns armed with tungsten carbide rounds, the Ju 87 G-1 could blow holes straight through the thin top armor of the T-34. Fortunately for the Soviets, Stukas were vulnerable when caught without fighter escort. Kit features two underwing 37mm BK cannons, pilot and radio operator figures, and four piece canopy.
