ESTES Antar Model Rocket Kit
Description:

Harry Stine (NAR#02) is known as the “Father of Model Rocketry” and founder of the National Association of Rocketry. One of the original pioneers that founded the hobby right alongside Vern Estes, Stine was also a talented writer. This Estes Designer Signature Series kit is a faithful reproduction crafted by Estes designers from many sketches Stine created as well as the actual original model which is from the personal collection of Estes Vice President Bill Stine (who happens to be Harry’s son). Antar was not designed as a flying model rocket because in 1951 the hobby didn’t exist yet!  Stine was a physicist and clearly understood the science of flight, so even though Antar was a fictional vehicle, the science behind it meant it could be stable in flight.

ESTES Gryphon
Description:

Meeting all expectations set by its legendary name, the Gryphon model glider kit will be the “King of the Air”. The Gryphon itself can soar to the height of 700 feet on an A10-3T engine. Upon reaching apogee, a colorful streamer acts as a tracking and recovery device to show where the rocket will land. During that time, the Gryphon’s stealthy glider moves magically across the sky to serve as a protector to everything below and will also gracefully return to earth to be readied for another flight.

Made from lightweight paper tubing and laser-cut balsa, the Gryphon is a great first step above a beginner rocket. In about two hours, plus painting time, rocketeers will build a rocket that will garner attention in both the air and when on display.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, yellow glue, plastic cement, wax paper, hobby knife, masking tape, clear tape, primer (white), paint (gray, white) and clear coat (optional). (Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included.)

WHAT YOU NEED TO LAUNCH (sold separately): Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Launch Controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters and recovery wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).

ESTES Black Brant II
Description:

Guess who’s back! After 20 years in hiatus, the Black Brant II kit is rejoining the Estes line! The beloved Brant is sporting the same classic design from the 90s, however it’s now reproduced with laser cut wood fins and plastic toothpicks. Fun to build and exhilarating to fly, this rocket is one of the highest flying model rockets in the Estes scale collection.

The Black Brant family of sounding rockets was made in Canada in the late 50s. More than a half century later, highly reliable Black Brant rockets are still carrying scientific payloads to high altitude. Second in the series, the 28 foot long rocket first flew in 1960.  It was eventually succeeded by the smaller but more powerful Black Brant III.

A stunning model, the Estes Black Brant II is a 1:13 scale replica of one of the earliest in the group. Standing nearly 25 inches tall, this impressive rocket is loaded with scale details. Finish your rocket with detailed waterslide decals and an 18 inch parachute for gentle recoveries. Use the recommended D12-7 (sold separately) to reach heights of 1300 feet. Build and fly your Black Brant II today!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter’s glue, plastic cement, hobby knife, masking tape, primer (white) and paint (black, white). (Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included.)

WHAT YOU NEED TO LAUNCH (sold separately): Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and E Launch Controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters and recovery wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).
